     The Emergency Response & Environmental Branch is responsible for:

• the monitoring of radiation in the environment in NC,
  including nuclear facilities & other sites of interest

• radiological emergency planning & response

• low-level radioactive waste management and coordination in NC

• Naturally Occurring Radioactive Material (NORM) issues

• homeland security issues.
